Recently, I started creating little quiltworks using various techniques that I need to learn more about. This piece, called Fly Away, uses fusing and freeform machine quilting. It's an expression of how far I go both in my imagination and in my travels around the country.

travels to ohio



Ohio is the most average of the states, yet there are places there that are unlike anywhere else. Hocking Hills, in the Southeast quadrant of the state, are the anti-prairie to that which exists in the boring, flat, northern half, where corn dominates the horizon. Here, the horizon is lost amid rocks and trees and gullies. And the water flows to the Ohio River.
