travels to ohio



Ohio is the most average of the states, yet there are places there that are unlike anywhere else. Hocking Hills, in the Southeast quadrant of the state, are the anti-prairie to that which exists in the boring, flat, northern half, where corn dominates the horizon. Here, the horizon is lost amid rocks and trees and gullies. And the water flows to the Ohio River.

Have you thought about laying your quilt images west to east to see if there are geographical "threads" through your work? You posted an image of the Laurel Highlands, which lies not too far away from this place. The landscapes are slightly but not dramatically different. What parallels can you find in the fabric images of these places? Or am I way off target...
