Lumpy, the cat who would let me do this to him, is no more. After four days in the hospital for pancreatitis, he lost his feistiness, didn't care if anyone touched his belly anymore, and became the lump that going to the hospital was supposed to avoid happening. The house is unpleasantly quieter now.

I'm sad for you, Ren. I'm looking at Lumpy's sweet face right now as I write this: one of a kind. That's why it hurts. Love, too. The deeper the affection, the harder the hurt. Why does it work that way? I don't know. But I give you a psychic hug in condolence.
Oh Ren, I am so sorry for the loss of Lumpy. He was really some little guy!!! My little ones, Spunky and Baby (mini schnauzers), Charlie (little boy Chihuahua), Ginger (little old schnoople girl), and Beansie and Busterbrown kitties, and Big Boy tortoise and I all send our prayers and thoughts.
